“ In Search Of Darkness- 1995-1999” Expands On Horror Films That Almost Happened

Fan-beloved and critically acclaimed, the IN SEARCH OF DARKNESS series returns to explore 90s horror with the decade’s final years, 1995-1999. It was both the beginning and end of something truly wonderful- the rebirth of the slasher and found footage, and the end of an era where VHS and Mom and Pop Video Stores were becoming phased out by the new DVD and large store chains, like Blockbuster. It was a beautiful and nostalgic time for horror.

Also, the age of the internet was rising and fooling folks into thinking horror movies were real. The good ol’ days of thinking the Blair Witch really happened, eh?

In addition to brand new interviews and commentary from actors, directors, and the voices of the horror community today, IN SEARCH OF DARKNESS is exploring some horror films that haunted Hollywood… but never happened. Like John Carpenter remaking the CREATURE OF THE BLACK LAGOON. Or Clive Barker and Mick Garris rebooting THE MUMMY. The ’90s were filled with tantalizing horror projects that promised to redefine the genre, but never made it past the script stage.

“In Search of Darkness: 1995-1999” reveals the untold stories behind the decade’s most intriguing unmade projects. Hear directly from the filmmakers, writers, and producers who fought to bring these visions to life, and discover what separates the projects that succeed from those that forever remain “what if.”

You can preorder your copy of “In Search of Darkness: 1995-1999” right here and choose your bundle level that ranges from digital copies, t-shirts, posters, Blu-rays, and your name in the credits! Pre-orders close on June 9th, so don’t delay! Get your horror 90s nostalgia fix today!

Come Float with the official Teaser Trailer for “Welcome To Derry”!

Ever since the announcement for what is basically IT: Chapter 3 in series form headed to HBO MAX, we’ve all been waiting on pins and needles for our first glimpse of “WELCOME TO DERRY”, that is spearheaded by Andy Muschietti & Barbara Muschietti along with Jason Fuchs for Warner Bros. Television. Even better news was the recent confirmation that the prequel to IT will be a three-season horror story.

The only thing better is our first look at the series itself with the official teaser trailer drop! Oh, be still my heart. It burns there too.

Bill Skarsgård will be doing his fucked up eye twitches once again as he returns as Pennywise the clown in “WELCOME TO DERRY”. The season trilogy will kick off the story in 1962, in the time leading up to the events of It: Chapter One. From there, the planned second and third seasons will return in time and take place in different decades. The series is based on Mike Hanlon’s interludes from King’s book, which document “catastrophic events” from Derry, Maine’s past. The Black Spot anyone?

Welcome to Derry” premieres on HBO and HBO Max later this Fall, with a solid date pending.

Matthew Lillard In Talks to Join “Carrie” Series on Amazon

News coming straight from Deadline is that horror alumni fan favorite, Matthew Lillard is in talk to join with Amazon’s upcoming CARRIE series; based on Stephen King’s iconic debut novel.

Written, produced, and part-time director of select episodes, the CARRIE series transmits its powers to modern horror master Mike Flanagan, who is also set to take over the upcoming EXORCIST films (thank Pazuzu), debut actress Summer H. Howell will play Carrie White, and Siena Agudong will portray Sue Snell. No word on what role Lillard is in talks to snag, but no doubt the addition of Lillard will add interest to a property that has been redone several times since Brian De Palma’s 1976 film.

The horror legacy of CARRIE has theatrically shot out one sequel, “”THE RAGE: CARRIE 2” in 1999 (quite underrated IMO), two remakes in 2002 and 2013, and a television special- “Riverdale: A Night to Remember” in 2018. The CARRIE series will consist of eight episodes total, with Amazon MGM Studios producing.

Stay tuned as more information comes in!
