Regarded by horror fans the world over as two of the greatest Italian horror films ever made, Lamberto Bava’s Demons films are not only major cinematic nightmare fuel, but also hugely entertaining splatterfests of the highest order. Synapse’s 2013 Blu-rays remain two of their most popular releases, and now they’re bringing these favorites to 4K UHD and remastered Blu-ray in brand-new spectacular 4K restorations! These horrific splatter classics produced by Dario Argento (Suspiria) have never looked or sounded better and are packed with hours of special features, making this the ultimate home video release of these horror favorites.

In Demons, a masked man offers tickets to a horror movie sneak preview at the mysterious Metropol cinema. When a patron is scratched by a prop displayed in the theatre lobby, she transforms into a flesh-ripping demon! One by one, the audience members mutate into horrible creatures hell-bent on destroying the world! Can anyone escape this gory orgy of terror? In 1986’s ambitious sequel Demons 2, the apocalyptic terror continues! A televised horror film spells doom for the residents of a luxury high-rise apartment, as demons are unleashed through the TV screen at a young girl’s birthday party. As more and more residents are infected and transformed into blood-thirsty demons, a young couple fights to survive as they try to escape Hell on Earth.

“The Exorcist” Trilogy Greenlit By Universal and Peacock; Ellen Burstyn Returns

"THE EXORCIST" TRILOGY GREENLIT BY UNIVERSAL AND PEACOCK; ELLEN BURSTYN RETURNS

400 million dollars. That’s how much it cost Universal Pictures and it’s cousin network Peacock to secure the rights for an Exorcist trilogy of films.

Holy hell that’s a head spinner.

Along with a partnership with Blumhouse and Morgan Creek in a release agreement, Ellen Burstyn returns in her role as Chris McNeil- the mother of possessed Regan and David Gordon Green (Halloween 2018) is slated to direct.  According to Deadline, Hamilton‘s Leslie Odom Jr. will star as the father of a possessed child who seeks out the aid of Chris MacNeil.

What fans should be most excited about, is that this series of films serves as a continuation to the classic horror series- not a remake or reimagining. Worth noting that Universal has said the previous entries (Exorcist II and III) will NOT be disregarded into further the storyline. Unlike with Director Green’s Halloween trilogy with Halloween Kills coming this October that only acknowledges the first film in the franchise; which is fairly nice to hear from this fan’s POV.

Produced by Jason Blum, and executive produced by David Gordon Green, Danny McBride and Couper Samuelson, the first of The Exorcist trilogy of films is set to hit theaters on October 13th, 2023.

As of right now, Linda Blair does NOT seem to be involved. But hey, things can change at the drop of a hat folks.

In the meantime, pick up this great Exorcist Anthology series from the Amazon Beast for a great deal and to celebrate this news!

“Chucky” TV Series Full Trailer From Comic-Con Revealed!

It’s time to play… again. But this time over at SYFY in collaboration with the USA network for a series to premiere exclusively on the platforms just in time for the Halloween 2021 season!

Produced by Channel Zero‘s Nick Acosta and Child’s Play forefather Don Mancini, the show centers around a teenage artist (Zackary Arthur) who is struggling with his sexuality after coming out as well as dealing with the recent loss of his mother. As we can all can guess, this unfortunately causes some bullying for the young boy. He comes across Chucky at a local yard sale, and with him being an artist and all, buys the good guy for some parts for a sculpture- but umm, yeah the doll has other plans.

The cast of Chucky also stars Lexa Doig (Jason X) and Devon Sawa (Final Destination) as well as returning fan favorites Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, and Brad Dourif, who once again voices the plastic tiny terror.

Chucky will premiere Oct. 12 at 10 p.m. on USA and SYFY.
